11 Day Tahiti And Her Islands

11 Days / 10 Nights | From $4799

Tahiti - the very name evokes visions of an island paradise, exotic days, star-filled nights and South Sea adventure. And this is exactly what you will find there. The Islands of Tahiti are surely the prototype for the concept of the far-flung, South Seas romantic escape - archipelagos of volcanic islands isolated in a gigantic deep blue Pacific, protected entirely by barrier reefs that form some of the world’s most fabled lagoons.

Day 1: Arrive in Papeete

Upon arrival in Papeete you will be met by a representative for a brief introductory orientation talk.

Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. The largest and most lively of The Islands of Tahiti, known simply as Tahiti, lives at the pace of culture, music and dance. Attend an enchanting Tahitian dance show called ‘ori Tahiti, or visit a contemporary art exhibition, an unusual play, a traditional or modern concert. Tahiti, and especially Papeete, provide the opportunity to discover artistic expression of all kinds.

Join a scenic Tahiti Island tour starting with the island’s West Coast and the famous Marae Arahurahu, a religious site dedicated to the ancient gods where important ceremonies used to take place. We then visit the beautiful gardens and waterfall of Vaipahi set in a lush tropical environment. Not missing the East Coast and its Blow Hole, a natural site recently refurbished for visitors and Venus Point, where Captain James Cook landed. We wrap up our island tour with a breathtaking panoramic view at the Tahar’aa View Point.

Overnight in the Te Manava Suites Tahiti (standard room)

Day 2: Papeete to Moorea

You will be transferred to the Ferry Terminal in Papeete, from where you take a ferry to the beautiful island of Moorea and a transfer to your accommodation for the next four nights.

Moorea rises magically out of the ocean like a cathedral. High, sharp, inspiring green spires, crowned by clouds. Poetic threads of waterfalls tumble down fern-softened cliffs. Peaceful meadows flanked by pinnacles of emerald green will renew your belief in the majesty of nature, and Moorea’s bright blue lagoon will bring to life the South Seas idyll of your dreams. Pastel-painted houses, surrounded by gardens of hibiscus and birds of paradise, circle the island in a necklace of happy, simple villages that will elevate your senses and remind you that this is what life is all about. La vie heureuse, as they say in Tahiti, a happy life. One of the most memorable locations in The Islands of Tahiti, Moorea’s beauty is unforgettable.

Day 6: Moorea to Bora Bora

Transfer to the Moorea Airport followed by a flight from Moorea to Bora Bora. Transfer from the Bora Bora Airport to your accommodation for the next three nights.

Simply put, Bora Bora is one of the most beautiful islands in the world.

The Islands of Tahiti exude a power of life that makes each experience in these islands unforgettable. The Tahitians call this power “Mana”. You will feel it ripple up your spine the moment you step off the plane. It will fill your soul. You will taste it and smell it in the air. Once you’ve experienced The Islands of Tahiti, the spirit of Mana will flow through your veins forever.

Romance rises from the velvet blues of the deep water up through the softer hues of the lagoon and into the air that surrounds Bora Bora. And its power fills each beat of the heart. A brief 50-minute flight from  Moorea Bora Bora, with a lagoon resembling an artist’s palette of bright blues and greens, is love at first sight.  Romantics from around the world celebrate this island where the lush tropical slopes and valleys of Mount Otemanu blossom with hibiscus, while palm-covered motu circle the illuminated lagoon like a delicate necklace.

Perfect white-sand beaches give way to azure waters where tropical-colored fish animate the coral gardens and giant manta rays glide leisurely past. This could easily be defined as the center of the romantic universe, where luxury resorts and spas dot the island with overwater bungalows, thatched-roof villas and a fabled ambiance.

Day 8: Boa Bora - free at leisure

Bora Bora’s lagoon is an underwater world that hosts manta rays, sharks and gentle Napoleon wrasses, which will welcome you while scuba diving, helmet diving or viewing from a glass-bottom boat. There are many opportunities to explore the lagoon, the motu and the ocean. You can circle the island by water or jump on jetskis or waterskis.

Take sail in a catamaran for a sunset cruise accompanied by local musicians and dancers or climb onboard a helicopter for a breathtaking ride high above this neon-colored world. Discover the dozens of shopping areas for art, handicrafts, pearls, and fragrant Tahitian oils and visit the artisan galleries and pick up your own Bora Bora original.

Spend the afternoon enjoying famous Matira Beach or the secluded beaches on one of the many islets surrounding Bora Bora. There will be time to snorkel in the clear waters around the resorts, hire a dive master to learn to dive or explore the sunken vessels and coral walls. A sail on a catamaran or deep sea marlin fishing are other options.

Day 9: Bora Bora to Raiatea

Transfer to the Bora Bora Airport and fly from Bora Bora to Raiatea. Transfer from the Raiatea Airport to your accommodation for the next two nights.

Raiatea is an incredible natural source of interest for scientists and nature lovers due to its rare flora and fauna species. Mount Temehani shelters the tiare ‘apetahi, a flower found nowhere else in the world. It has become the symbol for Raiatea. This half-circle white and delicate flower only blooms at dawn.

Raiatea also shelters the only navigable river in French Polynesia. Legend says that the river would have been the departure point of all Polynesian migrations to Hawaii and New Zealand.

We suggest you visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Marae Taputapuatea and go on a hike on mount Temehani to discover the endemic Tiare Apetahi flower. Shop local souvenirs and delicacies at the Uturoa market and drive along the quiet circle-island roads stopping at villages.
