Marmot Basin is the only ski area in Jasper National Park; an 11,000-square-kilometre wilderness that is part of the UNESCO Canadian Rockies World Heritage Site. With breathtaking mountain vistas, 86 runs and 3,000 vertical feet of varied terrain on 1,675 acres, Marmot Basin offers visitors a mountain of great memories. As the northernmost Rocky Mountain ski area with the highest base elevation in Canada, it enjoys abundant dry, natural snow from mid-November to early May.
Marmot Basin is one of the most diverse ski areas in North America for all abilities, from novice to expert, on four mountain faces. You will find everything from long, perfectly groomed trails to high alpine bowls and steep chutes filled with Rocky Mountain powder.
Marmot Basin is just 20 minutes from the authentic mountain town of Jasper, which retains its timeless appeal by being unpretentious – an intimate community that originated as a railway town that just happens to be in the middle of some of the most gorgeous protected wilderness in the world. Jasper is the perfect base for all ski adventures, where wildlife is abundant and there are lots of four-legged locals such as elk, deer, wolves and lynx in their natural environment.
Marmot Basin in Jasper National Park is an area that fulfils every skier and snowboarder’s dreams!
