Day 1: Perth

Arrive in Perth.

Day 2: Pinnacles Koalas and Sandboarding

After stopping at Caversham Wildlife Park in the Swan Valley to view koalas and hand feed kangaroos, we travel to the lobster fishing town of Cervantes for lunch. We stop at the Lobster Shack for an informative talk about the lobster industry, followed by a self guided tour through the purpose built factory. Then it’s onwards to the mystical Pinnacles Desert for an easy paced walk through the fascinating landscape where you will be in awe at the sheer size and number of these spires. Afterwards enjoy a thrilling experience of sand boarding and 4-wheel driving over the vast sand dunes of Lancelin.

Day 3: Margaret River

Explore the stunning wine region of Margaret River and the Mammoth Cave on this full day tour from Perth. Visit Busselton Jetty - the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere. Enjoy a gourmet platter lunch at Bootleg Brewery, including beer and cider tastings. Visit one of Margaret River's many wineries and enjoy a selection of fine wines. Enjoy a guided tour of Mammoth Cave - one of over 300 natural underground limestone caves in the district. See where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet, at Cape Leeuwin Light House. Situated at the most south westerly tip of Australia. Enjoy free time to wander the town of Margaret River.

Day 4: Indian Pacific Perth to Adelaide

Take in your last whiff of Indian Ocean air as you step from the platform at East Perth Station onto the Indian Pacific. The comfort of your cabin awaits as does your first onboard dining experience in the elegantly-appointed restaurant car. Reflect on the menu as you watch the suburbs of the Western Australian capital roll past your window and the verdant greens of the Avon Valley. 

Stepping off the platform at Perth Railway Station your Great Southern Rail attendant will guide you to the comfortable private cabin you'll be calling home for the next four days.

The first of those experiences - a delicious meal in the elegant restaurant carriage as you watch the world roll by.
The afternoon is yours to relax, socialise and get acquainted with the novelty of rail travel. 

Lunch in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant awaits with culinary wonders prepared onboard by our talented chefs. All food is included in your fare including the delicious rack of lamb and desert lime lamington, paired with a Margaret River sauvignon blanc or another fine wine from our wide range. 

Swap stories with other guests, watch the ever-changing view transform before your eyes and get ready for your first off train excursion in the wild west town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. 

Australia's largest regional town with a long and fascinating history, there's plenty to see, learn and do.
First stop that evening is the wild west town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, home to the staggering 3.6km wide Super Pit - an open-cut gold mine that has yielded riches 24 hours a day since 1989.

Day 5: Indian Pacific Perth to Adelaide

Upon waking, set your sights on the vast horizon beyond the window - you have arrived on the edges of the sweeping Nullarbor Plain. Big blue skies await you, the ancient stillness of the desert landscape broken only by a mob of friendly kangaroos or the occasional circling bird of prey. By the time you have refreshed and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, you'll be stepping off the train for a short stop in Cook. Once a bustling railway community, now effectively a ghost town, Cook gives new meaning to the expression "middle of nowhere". 

Get a sense of the Nullarbor's intense remoteness as you wander through Cook's abandoned buildings and learn more about the town's intriguing history. 

Back onboard, the beverages are cold and the welcoming atmosphere of the Outback Explorer Lounge inspires conversation and laughter. Sit back and relax as the train continues its trek across the longest single stretch of railway in the world.

Day 6: Arrive in Adelaide

Day 7: Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is Australia’s most internationally acclaimed wine region, highly regarded for producing excellent Shiraz. Featuring premium award winning wines, magnificent stone architecture and boutique wineries, the Barossa Valley is a great getaway destination. On this exciting new tour, enjoy a wonderful gourmet food & wine experience in the beautiful Barossa Valley, whilst touring in a small group.

Day 8: Adelaide – Kangaroo Island (Ferry)

Early morning pick up from your Adelaide hotel for a scenic coach trip to Cape Jervis to connect with SeaLink’s ferry for the 45 minute crossing to Kangaroo Island or travel via air to Kingscote Airport. On arrival at Penneshaw or Kingscote Airport you will be met by your guide and your island nature experience begins with an introduction to Kangaroo Island. Tour through several island habitats and see wildlife in its natural environment. Kangaroo Island is a haven for Australian wildlife, which exists in its natural habitat without the threat of introduced predators. Listen to the distinct sounds of the native birdlife as they chorus from the tall eucalyptus trees. Kangaroo Island is home to some 250 species of birds, many of which, through isolation from the mainland, have developed their own subspecies and are therefore unique to Kangaroo Island. As you travel the island keep an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, reptiles and wildflowers. 

At the spectacular Seal Bay Conservation Park, your guide will escort you on a memorable walk along the beach to view a huge and healthy Australian Sea-lion colony. Walk among the sea-lions as they bask on the beach or among the sand dunes. With your guide you are able to stand at a safe distance to these wonderful endangered creatures and hear them sigh and watch them at play. This is a truly unforgettable experience! 

Enter our exclusive Heritage-listed natural bush property to enjoy a delicious gourmet style picnic lunch with South Australian wine. After lunch, take a bushwalk looking out for koalas in the eucalyptus trees. Travel through the island’s interior keeping an eye out for koalas and echidnas. Explore the spectacular beaches of the north coast. Listen for Australia’s rarest cockatoo, the glossy black cockatoo and watch out for the Tammar wallaby, with its small, fine features, in its natural habitat. Later in the afternoon, as the day draws to a close, see the kangaroos leave the safety of the bush to begin grazing on the open pastures. Your group will return you to your accommodation for your overnight stay on Kangaroo Island.

Day 9: Kangaroo Island – Adelaide Ferry

This morning we travel to the western section of the island and discover the stunning Flinders Chase National Park, one of the oldest and most important national parks in South Australia. The park incorporates almost 20 per cent of the island and much of it is a Wilderness Protection Area, home to a variety of fauna and flora unique to Kangaroo Island. Enjoy the opportunity to walk through the park in search for kangaroos, wallabies and a variety of birdlife. See at close range some 10,000 New Zealand fur seals in their colony at Cape du Couedic and discover the incredible formation, Remarkable Rocks. These large granite boulders balance dramatically on the cliff edge, which plunges 75 metres into the turbulent Southern Ocean below. 

At Admirals Arch see where the powerful forces of nature have cut through the headland to create this beautiful natural geological formation.   

A delicious gourmet style picnic lunch with accompanying wine will be served in a secluded bush setting. During the day koalas can be observed in their treetop habitat. By special permit, enter the Kelly Hill Conservation Park to see kangaroos and other native wildlife emerge from the safety of the bushland to graze on the open plains.
If time permits, visit Point Ellen at Vivonne Bay, once voted Australia’s best beach. Your tour concludes at either Kingscote Airport for your return flight to Adelaide, or at Penneshaw in time for the return ferry to the mainland and coach transfer to Adelaide.

Day 10: Adelaide – Melbourne (Flight Not Included)

Today you will be transferred to your hotel for your flight to Melbourne, Sitting on the Yarra River, Melbourne is a maze of hidden laneways, opulent bars, exclusive restaurants and off-the-beaten-track designer boutiques. Visit Federation Square, the city’s landmark cultural space, and enjoy a sunset beer on the St Kilda Beach promenade. Wander Southbank’s cafes, bistros and bars and get a world tour of cuisines in Carlton, Richmond and Fitzroy.From Melbourne you can explore the surrounding areas of Yarra Valley for world class wines, the Mornington Peninsula, dotted with seaside villages & vineyards, Phillip Island to view the penguins, or travel to the spectacular Great Ocean Road to see the Twelve Apostles.

Day 11: Melbourne Sightseeing

Join your small group of up to 12 guests on the Melbourne City Tour. This tour allows guests to enjoy the main attractions of this marvellous metropolis in a relaxed and entertaining way. Guides bring to life the stories behind the iconic buildings and also outline the most interesting places to visit. Whether it is a walk in the park, a trip to the Cathedral or a shopping spree at Victoria Market, there is a lot to admire and take in. The tour covers the hustle and bustle of downtown to the tranquillity of Carlton Gardens; from trendy Fitzroy to edgy St Kilda. Visit world famous Albert Park, home of the Australian F1, and the sports precinct including the famous MCG and Melbourne Park, home of the tennis Australian Open. The tour includes a stop at the Shrine of Remembrance and ends at Eureka Skydeck 88, where you can enjoy magnificent views of Melbourne from the 88th floor. 

Dining in Melbourne can be a fabulous experience, especially aboard the fleet of historical trams that have become The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. These glossy, burgundy restaurants on wheels are the first travelling tramcar restaurants in the world and ensure a delightful innovative approach to dining.As they cruise the scenic streets of Melbourne, diners can enjoy our fine cuisine and drink the very best of Australian wines or make a selection from our fully stocked bar at a fully inclusive price. The atmosphere is cosy, the service friendly and the decor as inviting as the colonial period these trams reflect.The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant officially commenced operation in August 1983 and has since become a star attraction and tourist symbol for the city of Melbourne. Dining aboard the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant is not only a culinary delight, but also a trip into a little piece of Victoria's history.

Day 12: Philip Island

Join your small group of up to 12 guests on this tour full of history, amazing landscapes and wildlife encounters. The first stop is at a historic working farm on Churchill Island. Here you will get a glimpse into a day in the lives of the first settlers on this remote island. A visit to the Koala Conservation Centre guarantees a close-up encounter with these furry little fellas in their natural habitat. Wallabies and echidnas can often be seen here in the wild. Stop for a walk on the boardwalk at The Nobbies where you can appreciate the full force of the ocean and maybe spot a few penguin nests. In summer months the tour allows for free time in Cowes for a stroll along the pier and a local seafood dish (own expense). Arrive at the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre with time to shop, have a coffee and meander down to the viewing platform to see the amusing arrival of the little penguins coming in on the surf.

Day 13: Melbourne – Sydney Flight Not Included

Day 14: Sydney Sightseeing

Today join your coach to commence a full day Spectacular Sydney tour with Magistic lunch cruise. Travel to Manly Beach for a stroll along The Corso to see the beach that has made Manly famous. Along the way to Manly view Darling Harbour and then cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge stopping at Milsons Point for spectacular views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Stop at Arabanoo Lookout for a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy time at Manly beach before heading back to Sydney via the exclusive and trendy suburbs of Neutral Bay and Mosman.   

Just before 12pm you’ll board the Magistic Cruises luxury 50 metre catamaran and enjoy a buffet lunch offering an array of fresh local seafood, meat and vegetable dishes, salads, desserts, cheeses and fruits as you cruise around Sydney Harbour. Following your cruise rejoin your coach and tour through the historic Rocks area and take in views of the Opera House, Hyde Park, St Mary's Cathedral, Parliament House and the Art Gallery. Stop at Mrs Macquarie's Chair for magnificent views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and see the colourful Royal Botanic Gardens. Visit The Gap to enjoy the stunning views. Stop at the world famous Bondi Beach then rejoin the coach for the return journey to Sydney travelling through Paddington and the exclusive Eastern Suburbs.

Day 15: Sydney Free Day

Day 16: Sydney – Cairns (Flight not included)

Day 17: Cape Tribulation

Travel to Port Douglas via the Captain Cook Highway, one of Australia's most scenic coastal drives. Join a guided tour and see the endagered cassowary and other wildlife with the opportunity to have our photo taken holding a koala, snake or crocodile (extra cost.) 

Travel along the rainforest-fringed Cape Tribulation Road through Daintree National Park, a magnificent wilderness region. Depart for Jungle Surfing - a unique rainforest tour where your feet don't touch the ground. Fly through the trees on ziplines with a bird's eye view into the canopy and out to the reef. 

Depart Cape Tribulation for return journey with some comfort stops along the way. Stop at Alexandra Lookout for magnificent views. Depart north side of the river for the Daintree River Cruise. Spot crocodiles, birds and other wildlife as you journey through the mangrove

Day 18: Great Barrier Reef Cruise

Day 19: Cairns
